Our son joined Nanny Poppins for their summer holiday club and loved going every single day! Such a caring environment and the days were so varied both indoors and outdoors - some of his favourites often involved water play. Every day he asks us when he can go back again.

July 2026

Sophia has completed 2 full years at Nanny Poppins this June 2026. What an amazing time she has had! Her personality and confidence have grown hugely in Vanessa's safe and stimulating classroom environment. Her speech, number knowledge and reading and writing has exploded in the last year since she joined the extended phonics classes. We are so proud of Sophia and all that she has learnt and cannot thank Vanessa and Lowena enough. Now that Sophia is starting Reception, we feel that she is more than capable to tackle what lies ahead, not just academically but socially and emotionally. Vanessa's approach to learning is fun, interactive and constantly changing with themes, art, exploring and many fun toys. This has instilled a deep passion for learning in Sophia, a crucial foundation for her long school journey ahead. Many mornings when I dropped Sophia off I was very curious as to what they would be doing that day, and wished I'd had some of those experiences in my playschool growing up. At the end of each day I would get a lovely flurry of photos to show me what had been going on at school, and I could then ask and discuss it with Sophia. As a parent you feel so relieved and at ease knowing that your child was having a blast, and learning so many new and exciting things. Vanessa created a very detailed and personalized report for Sophia, summing up her 2 years of growth and change at Nanny Poppins, which we will keep forever, looking back I'm sure in years to come at that tiny little Sophia who started at almost 3 years old. 

Luckily our chapter at Nanny Poppins is not over, as our 2 year old son Jax will be starting in August 2026. We look forward to our third year of Nanny Poppins and all the fun learning and adventures that lie ahead.

May 2025

Nanny Poppins school has been such an amazing place for our 3 year old daughter. It is a nurturing, fun and creative school where her confidence has grown and has ignited a passion for learning new things. Our daughter has a strong mind and personality, so disagreements do occur, but Nanny Poppins has allowed her to have more one on one attention which has been fantastic for her development and helping her manage conflict situations. I can't recommend this special little school enough for any parent who wishes their child to have a loving and stimulating environment. The team care so much for the children, it is a joy for us to send our daughter to school knowing she is in good hands.

July 2026

When our son started at Nanny Poppins in August 2024, it was his first experience of being away from us in a structured setting. Now, as he finishes his time there, we can look back and say it has been a fantastic experience from start to finish.

Vanessa and her team create a warm, welcoming environment where children feel comfortable, supported and free to be themselves. From the beginning, they took the time to help our son settle in and build his confidence, and it quickly became somewhere he was excited to go.

What has always stood out to us is the amount of thought and energy that goes into every session. There is a huge variety of activities, and Vanessa somehow manages to strike the right balance between learning, creativity, independence and fun. No two days ever seem the same.

Over the past two years, we've seen our son grow enormously in confidence, communication and independence. Just as importantly, he has made friends, developed his curiosity, and built a real enthusiasm for trying new things.

We have also really appreciated the regular photos and updates, which made it easy to see how much he was enjoying himself and gave us a glimpse into all the different activities and experiences he was having.

As he moves on to his next chapter, we're very grateful for the positive start Vanessa and her team have given him. The fact that our daughter will be starting at Nanny Poppins this August probably says more than any testimonial could. We would happily recommend Vanessa and her team to any family looking for a caring, engaging and well-run early years setting.

One departing final touch that really stood out at the end of his time at Nanny Poppins was the incredibly thorough report Vanessa prepared for him. It was detailed, thoughtful and genuinely enjoyable to read, capturing not just his progress and development, but also his personality, interests and the things that make him who he is. The amount of care and attention that went into it reflected everything we've experienced over the past two years and was a lovely way to look back on how far he has come. It has already proven useful for future school applications in Hong Kong.

December 2024​

Vanessa and the Nanny Poppins team came highly recommended to us by several friends and colleagues. We visited every other well-known pre-school in South Lantau, but found Vanessa to be far and beyond the most impressive and suitable offering. Vanessa has created a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment.

Our son (17 months at the time) started in August 2024 at 3 hours x 3 days per week.

​

This was our son's first experience with unaccompanied, structured sessions and Vanessa took care to make sure he felt settled and looked after during his adjustment over the first few weeks which also put us at ease.

Vanessa clearly puts a lot of thought into the daily sessions, and has a seemingly endless list of stimulating and engaging activities to put on offer. Our son is always smiling in all the photos and videos, which Vanessa provides in bulk, and he always returns home very happy and content. Vanessa integrates solo play / learning with group activities incredibly seamlessly.

His speech, hand-eye coordination, curiosity and general skills are improving weekly with the guidance of Vanessa and he is also learning the basics of gentle discipline along with endless fun which we highly appreciate.

We strongly recommend Vanessa and her team and will be sending our infant daughter to her as well when she is of age!

April 2024

Amelie has been going to Nanny Poppins since February 2024. Amelie appears relaxed whilst being challenged; she goes in and out with a smile on her face and comes home with new skills, songs, and words. The indoor and outdoor space adds to the creative and nurturing environment that has been established by Vanessa and her team. We also love the variety of activities – it looks like nonstop fun and learning!

November 2025

​We have recently relocated from Hong Kong to Mumbai, and one of the saddest goodbyes for our family was the one with Nanny Poppins where our son attended (starting at 20 months - 40 months). Our older daughter often joined during LIS days off and for camps 5 - 7 years old.

​

Here in Mumbai our son has started 'big boy school' (in every sense of the word) and is thriving! Feedback from teachers is of very high emotional intelligence and incredible inclusivity, and I attribute the foundation of his personality built by Vanessa at Nanny Poppins. She develops good kids and teaches skills that are essential for the rest of their lives. I am so grateful our son spent these important early formative years at Nanny Poppins, he is such a good kid with the kindest heart, thanks to Vanessa.

Fast forward to today, having been here in India for nearly half a year, we miss Vanessa more than words can describe. Her consistent support and guidance was essential for me, being an expat and living far from family in Hong Kong.

Maclemore has a lovely clay figure they made at school with Vanessa and Lowena that he hugs at bedtime and says 'LOVE'. I tear up every time, a true demonstration and summary of his time at Nanny Poppins.

April 2024

We are thrilled to have Maclemore at Nanny Poppins. He started just before turning two and has been having the most wonderful time!

Maclemore loves going to school and gets up the stairs to the classroom with excitement! He is always very happy after class and in photos we can tell he is enjoying himself.

Vanessa is truly the most wonderful teacher we have ever met: dedicated, talented, stern, loving and simply fantastic at her job. The variety of activities indoor and outdoor is high and keeps the little ones engaged and learning. We also appreciate getting help with potty training at the moment!

We are so happy our boy is thriving, and Nanny Poppins is playing a big part of these wonderful early years for our family.

Poppy joined Nanny Poppins at 18 months old and it has been wonderful watching how she has grown in independence and made new friends. She was quite anxious when she first began, but became confident quite quickly and looks forward to her days at playschool.

Vanessa and her assistant take time to know each child individually and offer a lovely environment for nurturing and caring for the little ones.

My 6 and 4 year old took creative writing classes with Vanessa and loved them. They were encouraged to use their imaginations and develop a story using inspiration from inside and outside the classroom. After they had completed their stories, they had an opportunity to share them out loud, which was great for confidence development.

A friend suggested Nanny Poppins for my daughter's mid-term break. From the first whatsapp message, Vanessa made me feel at ease with her clear and organized approach. She explained the activities and care my daughter would receive. I appreciated the transparency and enrolled my daughter. She had a blast and adores Vanessa, calling it the most fun place ever. We are going to sign her up for the summer program and highly recommend Nanny Poppins to other parents.

Nanny Poppins  came recommended to us and we were impressed after visiting Vanessa in Pui O. Vanessa and her team create a warm, welcoming environment indoors and out, filled with fun and engaging sensory toys. The session has a structured routine that provides comfort and predictability for the children, yet Vanessa’s small groups allow for flexibility to meet individual needs. We especially appreciate the incorporation of practical life skills, from potty training to baking. Vanessa also sends photos and updates every day, which we always look forward to. Our daughter is thriving and having a blast!

My daughter attended the Easter Holiday Club with Vanessa at Nanny Poppins Children, and she had a wonderful time! Each day featured new, creative activities, plenty of outdoor play, music, and laughter. At the end of each day, Vanessa shared photos showcasing everything the kids did, highlighting the warm and fun environment she has created.

It's clear that Vanessa has a true passion for her work, which reflects in how much the children enjoy their time at her school. I highly recommend Nanny Poppins! If my daughter were younger (she is 8.5 years old), it would be a no brainer to send her to this playschool.

Returned for 1/2 Term Holiday Club

My son, 4 years old, had a wonderful time at Vanessa during the holidays. He enjoyed all of it. They did a lot of motor skills activities with water, sand, cooking and physical activities through group games. He also enjoyed reading time. I can only recommend Vanessa and her team for her approach with children!

March 2025 for English Language Development and Phonics classes

Ryden has been taking up the phonics class at NPC for the past 6 months (he turned 3 in September 2024). I'm very pleased with the result thus far. It's very exciting to see my kid learn and be taught in a playful method. It was quite surprising when he started to recognise all the sounds and letters after few weeks of class, and most importantly, he enjoys doing it. Wherever he saw the letters, he takes initiative to pronounce it and I can see the confidence in him. Thanks, Vanessa, to develop the kid's motivation within himself and not by forcing him to do what he doesn't want to do. Matching sounds to letters and letters to sounds can be a tricky and daunting task when kids are learning English (not his first language). But I found it more easy with Jolly Phonics at NPC. Vanessa also helped Ryden to develop his fine motor skills and he has improved so much with his handgrip skills and hope this could continue to improve and I can't wait to see Ryden start to reading words by himself and build more confidence along the way.

If you’re looking for a place for your preschooler to learn, NPC is the place to be.

Vanessa is wonderful with kids and the theme she creates for the classes were exceptional! You can tell that she put a lot of efforts to it.

She also communicates with us and keep us posted on my son’s progress which is very important to us. My son enjoys going to NPC everyday, learnt so much and most of all laugh so much!

Returned for 1/2 Term Holiday Club

Kids were super happy with the experience. We'll definitely enroll them again for holidays.

Nanny Poppins Summer Camp was a hit with my kids! They raved about baking, dinosaur lessons and story time. The playschool balances outdoor fun with learning, allowing kids to explore their interests.

Vanessa, the instructor, is a gem. She is not only adept at engaging with the children, but also excels in communication. We love how she shares insights about the kids' experiences post-class and even sends photos, which adds a personal touch to the entire experience.​​​​​​​​

Since we entrusted our daughter of just 18 months old at Nanny Poppins, we have witnessed a remarkable improvement in her behaviour across the board! Stepping into this warm learning environment, it consists of an outdoor and indoor playroom with a huge variety of toys, and different areas that mimic real-life situations for kids to master new skills. The unaccompanied format has allowed her independence to bloom and has enhanced her communication, as well as strengthening her confidence and ability to focus on small tasks. There is a strong emphasis on learning how to be autonomous, sharing and being considerate with other peers (no matter the age), and approaching problems with patience. Even at this young age, the values ingrained during these sessions have surely made a difference in the way she interacts with us at home. Following a more structured morning schedule accompanied by a weekly theme encourages her understanding of time, curiosity, and free play. Vanessa takes the time to update all parents with a weekly newsletter, along with warming updates and photos / videos which are testament to how joyful she is in this inclusive space! Extremely grateful that this exists in our Pui O neighbourhood, and that the kids here are so well loved.

Our son (2 ½ years old) had a fantastic time with Vanessa and her team at Nanny Poppins over the summer break. He had the biggest smile on his face every day when we picked him up, and it was clear from the pictures and videos that he was very engaged and loving every minute. The daily messages and feedback on how he was doing was also a very nice touch, and just reinforced how hands on and caring Vanessa is.

We joined here in August and Hubert enjoyed interacting with Vanessa and her team. Hubert has developed a relationship with his new friends and he also learned some new words here. Vanessa always tells us about my son's every situation so we can rest assured here. In addition, Nanny Poppins is really a wonderful place if you are looking for a playschool.

I highly recommend Nanny Poppins playgroup for toddlers. My daughter (2 years 8 months old) loves it so much! Vanessa is very attentive, sends you photos and a report of your child’s day in the evening, and is very open to working with the parents if there are specific needs or requirements you or your child may have. It is a pity my little one is starting K1 soon and we won’t be able to continue once school starts, but if any parent is looking for an engaging, fun but also smaller, more intimate environment for their kiddos you should definitely contact Vanessa.

We enrolled our 3 year old son into Nanny Poppins over summer break, and within a day he was settled and absolutely loving the sessions. They do lots of fun and educational activities with the kids, both in and outdoors, and he brought home lots of his artwork creations.

We particularly loved the many lovely photos and videos we would get sent, along with regular updates on his progress and any interesting events or interactions. Would not hesitate to sign him up again.
